Canoe - Kayak on Lake Plastira

A leisurely ride on Lake Plastiras, with a canoe or kayak and a pirogue can be a unique experience for paddle lovers. Tavropos Activity Center provides you with the means to take an unforgettable ride, in all safety, in the blue-green waters of Lake Plastiras, or a day trip to its captivating bays and islets, and even reach the dam. In addition to our excellent equipment, we provide life jackets, instructions and support with our lifeboat.

Information about our equipment

Our equipment consists of 6 double canoes / kayaks, 5 single ones, and 7 pirogues. There is no danger of falling into the water, only if you stand up and lose balance or if you jump into the water on your own.    

Canoe- kayak is a shallow type of canoe, sit on top and is light by constriction. The paddle that is used is double type and it is very easy to manipulate by a single person. At the double ones, both of the passengers use the paddle and the have to be synchronized.  Couse of its contraction, the possibilities of getting wet, are very large.

Rental Price: 15€/ person /1h,  20€/ person /2h,  30€/ person / day.

Pirogue is an Indian style of canoe. It is for two persons and it is possible to be placed one or two kinds. It is deeper than the canoe- kayak and heavier, by its contraction. The paddle that we use is single type, so it is not that ease to be manipulated by one person. The possibilities of getting wet are very small.  

Rental Price: 25€/pirogue/1h,  35€/pirogue/2h,  45€/pirogue/day.

Safety Measures

  • Always wear the life jacket provided.
  • Do not distance yourself for more than 200m from the shoreline.
  • In case of storm or lightning, immediately head for the nearest shore.
  • Do not exchange vessels when in the water.
  • In case of need, use the contact information provided on the life jacket tags, as a lifeboat is available.
  • Do not pollute the lake, the water is potable.
